What MiConvert for Google Drive can see, what happens to your files, and what we keep.

Your originals are never modified

MiConvert reads the file you selected and writes the converted result as a new file in your Drive. It never edits, moves, renames or deletes the original.

Files are processed temporarily and deleted

  • The selected file is copied from Drive to MiConvert's servers, converted, and the result is saved back to your Drive.
  • The temporary copy is deleted as soon as the conversion finishes. The converted output is kept for at most 4 hours so you can download it, then deleted automatically.
  • Nobody at MiConvert looks at your files. Conversion is fully automated.

What we store for your history

If you are signed in, each conversion adds one history entry: the file name, the source and target formats, the time, and the Drive file ID of the result so "Open file" works later. Nothing about the file's contents is stored. You can see this list under History.

How we use Google user data

Data received from Google — your email address, name, profile picture and the files you select — is used only to provide this feature. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never used to train AI or machine-learning models.

MiConvert's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Permissions, explained

drive.file
Lets MiConvert read the specific files you open with it or pick in the chooser, and create new files in your Drive. It cannot list or read anything else.
drive.install
Lets MiConvert appear in Drive's Open with menu. It grants no access to files.
openid, email, profile
Your basic Google profile (name, email, picture) so we can recognise your account and keep your history in one place.

MiConvert deliberately does not ask for the broader drive scope, so it can never browse your whole Drive.

Ads

Converting a file you opened from Google Drive happens on MiConvert's ordinary converter pages (for example miconvert.com/en/stl-converter), which show ads from Google AdSense. Your Drive data is never used for advertising and never passed to advertisers: those pages identify your files only by a random, short-lived code, never by file ID, and the file list is loaded separately from the page itself. The Drive pages of MiConvert (this one, Settings, History, the viewer and the extract, zip and compress screens) show no ads.
