X-ray Viewer Online
View digital X-ray images directly in your web browser. Upload DICOM files from chest X-rays, bone X-rays, dental panoramics, and other radiographic studies to see them rendered with proper exposure settings. Our viewer handles both CR (Computed Radiography) and DR (Digital Radiography) DICOM files from all major equipment manufacturers.

Why Use an Online X-ray Viewer?
Digital X-rays have largely replaced traditional film radiography, but the resulting DICOM files are no easier for patients to open at home. Whether you received a chest X-ray at an emergency department, a dental panoramic at your dentist, or a skeletal X-ray at an orthopedic clinic, the DICOM files on your CD or patient portal require specialized viewing software. Our online viewer gives you instant access.
X-ray DICOM files contain photometric interpretation data that determines whether the image should be displayed as a positive (dark bones on light background) or inverted image. Our viewer automatically reads this metadata and renders the radiograph with the correct polarity and contrast — producing an image that looks like what the radiologist sees on their workstation.
Orthopedic patients frequently need to share X-rays between their primary physician, orthopedic surgeon, physical therapist, and insurance company. Converting X-ray DICOM files to viewable images eliminates the need for each recipient to have DICOM software, streamlining communication across the care team.
How to View X-ray Images Online
- Upload your X-ray DICOM file (.dcm) from hospital CD or digital imaging portal.
- The viewer renders the radiograph with correct exposure and polarity settings.
- View your X-ray image in the browser — download as JPG for your records.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of X-rays can I view?
All digital X-ray types are supported: chest radiographs (PA and lateral), skeletal X-rays (hand, wrist, foot, ankle, knee, hip, spine, pelvis), dental panoramic radiographs (OPG), cephalometric X-rays, abdominal films, and extremity studies. Both CR (computed radiography) and DR (digital radiography) DICOM formats are handled.
Why does my X-ray look inverted (white background)?
Some DICOM X-ray files use MONOCHROME1 photometric interpretation (white = minimum density) while others use MONOCHROME2 (black = minimum density). Our viewer reads this tag and renders the image correctly. If the display appears inverted, the DICOM metadata may specify a non-standard interpretation — the viewer will still produce a clinically appropriate rendering.
Can I view dental X-rays?
Yes. Dental panoramic radiographs (OPGs), periapical X-rays, bitewing X-rays, and cephalometric images stored as DICOM files are fully supported. Many dental offices now use digital X-ray systems that produce DICOM output compatible with our viewer.
Are portable/mobile X-ray DICOM files supported?
Yes. DICOM files from portable X-ray units, bedside radiography, and mobile imaging systems follow the same DICOM standard as fixed equipment. Whether the X-ray was taken in an ICU, operating room, or mobile unit, the files are fully compatible.
