Privacy Policy - Your Safety & Anonymity First | MiConvert

Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to MiConvert. We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and private file conversion experience. This Privacy Policy outlines our strict commitment to user anonymity, explains how we handle files, and details our compliance with international privacy laws.

2. Our Core Promise: Zero Data Collection

To ensure your absolute privacy, we operate under a strict "No-Logs" policy.

No Personal Information Stored

We do not require, collect, or store any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.

No Activity Tracking

We do not track your search history, browsing habits, or IP address logs on our servers. Your digital footprint on our site remains your own.

Automatic File Deletion

All uploaded files and converted outputs are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers 1 hour after conversion. We do not inspect, copy, or retain your files.

3. Global Legal Compliance

Because MiConvert is available worldwide, we are committed to complying with applicable data protection laws across various jurisdictions:

GDPR (Europe) & UK GDPR

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation by minimizing data collection to zero and ensuring that any technical data processing is lawful, fair, and transparent.

CCPA (California)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, we confirm that we do not sell or share any user data with third parties.

Vietnamese Law (Decree 13/2023/ND-CP)

We comply with the Decree on Personal Data Protection, ensuring that users have full rights and transparency regarding data processing.

4. Your User Rights

Even though we collect zero personal data, we respect your fundamental data rights. If any minimal technical data is ever collected, you have the Right to Access, Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten), and Right to Data Portability. Because we do not store personal data, there is effectively nothing to delete or port, ensuring your absolute privacy by default.

5. Cookies and Technical Data

We believe in minimizing data usage.

Essential Cookies Only

We may use temporary, technical cookies solely to ensure the website functions correctly (e.g., page loading speed). These cookies do not track your behavior and are designed to expire when you close your browsing session.

No Third-Party Sharing

Since we do not harvest user data, we do not sell, trade, or share any information with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Anonymous Error Tracking

To improve our service and fix bugs, we monitor anonymous client-side JavaScript errors (via our internal error tracking API). This data only includes technical details (such as browser type and error stack traces) and does not contain any Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

6. Security Measures (Safety)

We prioritize the security of our platform to protect our visitors.

HTTPS Encryption

All connections to our website are secured via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology, ensuring that any interaction with our site is encrypted.

Malware Monitoring

We actively monitor our systems to prevent malware, viruses, and other security threats, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all users.

Data Breach Protocol

In the highly unlikely event of a security breach affecting any technical data, we are committed to notifying relevant authorities and affected users within 72 hours.

7. External Links

Our content may contain links to other trustworthy websites for reference. Please note that once you leave our site, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external platforms. We encourage you to review their policies separately.

9. MiConvert Android App

Sections 2 to 5 describe the website. The MiConvert app for Android works differently, as described below.

Your Files

The app uploads only the files you choose to convert, or share to it from another app, and they are deleted from our servers on the same schedule as on the website. The app does not access your contacts, camera or microphone.

Account and Purchases

You can use the app without an account. If you sign in, we store your email address, your plan and your conversion history on our servers, and your session is kept in your device's secure storage. Paid plans are bought through Google Play, which handles the payment; we receive only the purchase confirmation. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account), which deletes this data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Signed-out users and the free plan see ads from Google AdMob; paid plans see no ads. AdMob collects device information such as the advertising ID, IP address and how you interact with ads, to serve, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud. In the EEA, the UK and US states with their own privacy laws, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Analytics and Crash Reports (Firebase)

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how it is used: which screens are opened, each step of a conversion, how long it takes and where it fails. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports. Both collect these events together with device information such as an app-instance identifier, the device model, the operating system version and an approximate location derived from the IP address. They do not receive your files, their contents or your email address. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days.

Google as a Service Provider

AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics are provided by Google and process this data under Google's Privacy Policy.
